Finally Friday: Half Rations

Photobucket

It's Finally Friday. You might think we'd be excited, right? Not.

As our Wordless Wednesday hinted, Mom has cut our Stinky Goodness in half!

Half!!

She says Gandalf has gained weight. Gandalf. Not me. Yet my Stinky Goodness is also cut in half! It started Wednesday. We now only get half a can in the morning and the remaining half a can in the evening. So far, our crunchies have not been affected.

He is such a brat.

Mum's can be so mean when it comes to food. Don't they understand we NEED our energy?

Silly mums.

That's terrible. You have my deepest sympathies on having to go on half rations.

Dear G & G,
My mom likes to tell me that it is the number of times I get served that is important, not how much I get. So she gives me a spoonful like 3 times a day. Each time I am happy. I heard her saying something to Mr. R about, "Good thing Abby can't count," and, "She doesn't care how much there is as long as she gets it." It makes me feel loved! What is this "counting" and do you know how to do it? Should I learn?

Purrs,
Abby Normal

That is bad news. Sounds like you will have to catch extra mousies.

Dieting isn't fun...Take from me. I've got tons of diet experience.

Dieting is a nuisance, particularly when it isn't your fault. People tell me your stomach will shrink over time and so you expect less food, and don't feel hungry, but it hasn't worked with me yet!

Oh dear! I better not let MB read this or me thinks she might get ideas!

I love that tree it looks very big!

Mom and Dad have discussed portion control with out crunchies (we don't do much wet food) but nothing yet. I think there might be a revolt! Hope you guys don't shrivel up and blow away.

that is terribly unfair. I think you should retaliate by stealing gandalf's half as well.

I hope you voice your displeasure all night long! Since no kitty should sleep on less than a full tummy, your mom shouldn't sleep either!

Grayson, that has to be a criminal act. I suggest you consult your attorney.

Jan's Funny Farm said... [ October 3, 2008 2:57 PM ]

Half? HALF? Cut in HALF? How could she? That's abuse, pure and simple. I can't stand to even think of having rations cut in HALF! I'd die. Starve to death! I can't stand this. JAAAAAAAAAAAN! I need foooooooood!

PS - That was Buddy being melodramatic. He likes to eat too.

The Furry Kids said... [ October 3, 2008 3:07 PM ]

NOOOOOOO! You can come over to my house. The Mom would never do that. Oh, wait. Yeah, she has. Nevermind.
Try to have a good weekend.

Marilyn MonREOW said... [ October 3, 2008 3:07 PM ]

Oh, *sigh*... I feel your pain! Mom has cut my stinky goodness way back. For two reasons: my weight, but also the fact that if I eat too much stinky goodness (and I always eat it way way way too fast), I barf it right back up. I'm a maturing girlcat, and my tummy's kind of sensitive.

Purrs and snuggles from Marilyn.

Oh, this sounds serious.
We get crunchies only, and only for about a half hour twice a day, so you are still ahead of the game!
This is because four of us are on four different kinds of food. The rest are on one kind. It's very confusing at food time!

Poor you! We know how you feel! Our Mommy was afraid we would get fat in Germany (well, which was actually true) so she has also put us on a diet. We are very happy to have Grandma and Grandpa in house who still give us some treats!

You look quite trim to me, it's so cruel to be on half rations.

GRRRETA said... [ October 3, 2008 8:28 PM ]

It's nice that your mom is making sure that you stay healthy. At least she is addressing the issue at a point where you still get SOME stinky goodness. It could be worse...NO stinky goodness. I was going to suggest dragging another squirrel into the house, but I think that probably should wait until the suituation becomes a little more desperate.

Angus Mhor said... [ October 3, 2008 8:58 PM ]

WHAT?! That's just wrong! You'll starve! You'll be famished! You'll waste away to practically nothing! Well, there's nothing for it but...yep..FREE RANGE FOOD! Let the Hunt begin!

Mickey said... [ October 3, 2008 10:32 PM ]

That's like getting punished for something your sibling did!!!!!!!
Not fair!!! You need extra treats!

Kelly Cat said... [ October 3, 2008 10:58 PM ]

Grayson, you need facts on your side. Stinky Goodness is not the culprit here, it's the dry food. When I was on dry crunchies, I gained lots of weight, and when my humans put me on the Catkins Diet of S.G., I lost 5 pounds. Good luck!

The Island Cats said... [ October 3, 2008 11:38 PM ]

Okay...when the beans start messing with your stinky goodness portions...you must rebel!

Tiggie FOC said... [ October 4, 2008 10:48 AM ]

That is just wrong. Do you hunt more now? Or chew up stuff you aren't supposed to?
Gandalf doesn't look fat. Maybe a little fluffy, but fluffy is good in a cat!

Hi Gandalf & Grayson,

I just read about your Mum cutting down your stinky goodness rations. How horrible! Maybe she aims at slowing you down energywise to get nice close-ups of your paws? ;)
My mum is giving me suspicious looks too these days - but I claim it's all baby fat!
